Kim Studebaker Du
Caring and non-judgmental, Kim Studebaker Du is sincerely interested in helping people overcome challenges in their lives, even when it seems impossible. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Music Therapist, Kim has the skill and experience to help many different people. In addition to her straightforward and supportive approach, she is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR, both evidence-based approaches in addressing trauma. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based method for addressing Borderline Personality Disorder and addictions. Kim is bi-cultural, and is functional in verbal Cantonese Chinese.
Her experience includes working at a partial care after-school program, schools, hospitals, and private practice. Her clients come from a wide range of ages, from infants to adults. She has specialized in attachment, teaching mindfulness skills, and emotional expression through musical experiences. She has supervised staff as a behavioral specialist clinician in Philadelphia City Schools in both elementary and middle schools. Kim has also served as a clinical supervisor for second year graduate students from Drexel University.
After receiving her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at University of Tennessee, Kim got her Master of Arts in Music Therapy from Drexel University. Kim presented her attachment research at both national and regional conferences. She continues to use her attachment knowledge in her practice.
